Four cubes on the meadow – within them, ribbons form the word “MAMA”. The artwork is shaped by the wind which blows against the ribbons and makes the letters more or less intelligible. When the wind blows, the word becomes visible – similar to being alive when our lungs are filled with air. An intimate and personal dedication by Russian artists Dmitrii Khramov and Maria Khramova to their mother, who recently passed away due to COVID-19. A choice which was spurred by the urgency of showing what it means to lose a loved one: the letters represent a sculpture, an image of corporeity. The meaning of this installation is to be found in the transition of this corporeity into the ephemeral, its disappearance. Life is fragile and its transition in death occurs when there is not enough air. This summer, Dmitrii and his mother would have spent their holidays in the mountains, and the presentation of the project ends with the following message: “But still, Mom, I’ll show you the Alps.“

Quattro strutture cubiche poste sul prato, entro cui sono legati dei nastri in sospensione, formano la parola “MAMA”. L’opera è composta dal vento, quando soffia i fili si muovono e rendono le lettere leggibili o meno. Quando il vento c’è la parola si rivela, come la vita quando nei polmoni c’è l’aria. Una dedica davvero intima e personale degli artisti russi Dimitrii Khramov e Maria Khramova alla madre venuta a mancare recentemente a causa del Covid-19. Un’azione dettata dall’urgenza di materializzare l’immagine della perdita di una persona cara, le lettere rappresentano una scultura, un’immagine della corporeità. Il significato dell’installazione sta nel passaggio di questa corporeità nell’effimero, la sua scomparsa. La vita è fragile e la sua transizione nella morte si concretizza quando non c’è aria a sufficienza. Quest’estate Dimitrii e la madre avrebbero trascorso le loro vacanze in montagna, la presentazione del progetto si conclude con il messaggio: «But still, Mom, I’ll show you the Alps.»

Vier Kuben auf der Wiese - in denen Bänder das Wort „MAMA“ schreiben. Das Werk wird vom Wind geformt, der gegen die weißen Bänder bläst und die Buchstaben mehr oder weniger deutlich macht. Wenn der Wind weht, dann wird das Wort sichtbar - ähnlich unseren mit Luft gefüllten Lungen als wichtiger Teil unseres Lebens. Es ist eine intime und persönliche Widmung der russischen KünstlerInnen Dmitrii Khramov und Maria Khramova an ihre Mutter, die kürzlich an COVID-19 verstorben ist. Die Wahl dieser Kunstform war angeregt von der Notwendigkeit zu zeigen, was es bedeutet einen lieben Menschen zu verlieren: die Buchstaben repräsentieren eine Skulptur, ein Bild der Körperlichkeit. Die Bedeutung dieser Installation ist zu finden im Übergang von dieser Körperlichkeit in die Vergänglichkeit, bis zum Verschwinden. Das Leben ist fragil und der Übergang zum Tod wird sichtbar, wenn es genug Luft gibt. In diesem Sommer hätten Dimitrii und seine Mutter ihre Ferien in den Bergen verbracht, deshalb endet die Präsentation des Projektes auch mit folgender Nachricht: „Aber dennoch, Mama, werde ich dir die Alpen zeigen.“

The Armentara meadows are a biotope where flora and fauna coexist in harmony – a rare sight of indescribable beauty. Its lush mountain meadows are home to rare orchids, firs, cops of larches, mountain pine forests and over 60 species of birds during summer. Vast swaths of alpine pasture are evidence of the farmers’ work and their respect for the land, modifying the landscape without disturbing its delicate balance.

I prati dell'Armentara, un biotopo naturale in cui flora e fauna si incontrano armoniosamente, sono uno spettacolo naturale di rara bellezza. Si attraversano morbidi prati di montagna dove in estate si possono ammirare rare orchidee, abeti e di larici. Si possono inoltre avvistare oltre 60 specie di uccelli. Ampi alpeggi testimoniano il lavoro dei contadini di questi luoghi che hanno modellato il paesaggio rispettando il suo delicato equilibrio naturale.

Die Armentarawiesen sind ein Naturbiotop, in dem sich Flora und Fauna harmonisch mit einem Naturszenario von seltener Schönheit verbinden. Auf weichen Gebirgswiesen wandert man im Sommer vorbei an selten Orchideen, Lärchenhainen und Tannenwäldern und kann mehr als 60 verschiedene Vogelarten sichten. Ausgedehnte Almen zeugen von der Arbeit der Bauern hier oben, die die Landschaft mit Rücksicht auf ihr empfindliches natürliches Gleichgewicht kultiviert haben.
