“Osservatorio del sottobosco”
The work of David Duzzi consists in the installation of some beds in the woods, with a hole at head height from which a person can observe the soil of the forest beneath him. His work comes from the idea of making a comparison between the type of nature we are accustomed to, on a "macroscopic" scale (clouds, mountains, trees), and a kind of "microscopic" nature, made of insects, moss, lichens, mushrooms and other parts that otherwise would not be at the centre of our attention. The world of the understory will show its amazing vitality only to those who will decide to take the time to lay down and explore a new universe, almost parallel.

Il lavoro di David Duzzi consiste nell’installazione di alcuni lettini in mezzo al bosco, i quali presentano un foro all’altezza della testa, onde si può osservare il terreno del bosco sottostante. La sua opera nasce dall’idea di mettere a confronto la natura a noi più consueta, quella in scala “macro” (nuvole, montagne, alberi), con un tipo di natura “micro”, composta da insetti, muschi, licheni, funghi e altri elementi meno al centro delle nostre percezioni. Questo mondo del sottobosco rivelerà la sua sorprendente vitalità solo a colui che si concederà il tempo per sdraiarsi e addentrarsi in un universo quasi parallelo.

Die Arbeit von David Duzzi besteht in der Aufstellung von einigen Betten mitten im Wald, welche ein Loch auf Höhe des Kopfes aufweisen, durch das man den darunter liegenden Waldboden beobachten kann. Sein Werk basiert auf der Idee, die uns vertraute Natur, jene in „Makro“-Größe (Wolken, Berge, Bäume), einer „Mikro“-Natur gegenüberzustellen, bestehend aus Insekten, Moos, Flechten, Pilzen und anderen Elementen, die ansonsten weniger im Zentrum unserer Wahrnehmungen stehen. Diese Welt des Gestrüpps im Unterholz offenbart ihre erstaunliche Vitalität nur jenen, die sich die Zeit nehmen, sich hinzulegen und in ein beinahe paralleles Universum einzudringen.
